Well, as many of you know, potty training is something I would put on my list of things I never want to do. I hate it. That was before. A couple of days ago, we pulled out the training pants and resolved to try again. Two accidents later (only 15 minutes apart) I decided to try something that my sister told me she heard about. I told Ellie that if she went in her panties she would be rinsed off with cold water. (It took a lot of contemplation and reasoning with myself to decide to try this tactic. I'm pretty sure I have the most stubborn girl born in the year 2006...which is a difficult situation for a softy mom like me. I've really had to learn to be consistent and mean what I say or my life is controlled by a two year old). Anyway, 15 minutes later...again, Ellie found herself in the tub getting rinsed off with cold water. She cried a little but nothing like I had imagined in my mind that it would be. Then we put her panties on and I reminded her that if she went potty in the toilet she would get a treat from the little candy machine we have. (Another fabulous tool...thanks Jamie for the idea). I sat down and said to Shawn "I don't think that's going to work. It hardly seemed to bother her." A few minutes later...to my amazement Ellie came running in to tell me she had to go potty. Those tinkles have never sounded more beautiful! We were ridiculously elated! And Ellie loved it! It took two cold rinses and she has been accident free ever since! WOW! Now every time she goes, Ellie says "I proud a you." Yes. We certainly are Ellie. Way to go! Now on to figuring out how to keep you in your own bed for sleepy time...
Is it always like this?

Yes... isn't it great!
yeah way to go on the potty training!! it is a great accomplishment!! It is such a great feeling to have that done!! Great job! we will have to get together!!
She sounds SO much like Hudson. He is probably the most stubborn kids born in 2005. Still is not potty trained and cant get him to sleep in his bed. Jaxon gave me a false sense of what things were really like. Good luck with the bedtime thing.
Way to go! I guess I need to try that method for Spence. We would love to see you guys next time you guys are in town!
Congrats! I'm so proud of you! You did it!
