My Website
So I am finally working on the business I want to run from my home. I have a love of digital scrapbooking and have found a company that teaches you how to build a website that gets traffic. I have been learning for about eight months and am just now starting to actually write the content for my website. I just created my logo/header for my homepage and was wondering if I could get some feedback. After starring at something you're designing for a while, it's hard to see what needs to be improved. Shawn said it 's kinda hard to read, so I'd like to know how many of you thought that too. Please share your thoughts! I'd really appreciate it! p.s. clicking on the image will let you see it actual size...
Aaron's Getting Married!
I can't believe my brother is getting married. He met a girl named Alexis, from the singles ward. They have a pretty good story. It goes something like this. Aaron has motorcycle. Alexis wants to drive. Church parking lot. Wreck. Aaron ok...landed on Alexis. Alexis knocked out. Ambulance. Nasty black eye. Love at second sight...or something like that. You'll have to ask them for the details. Anyway, here's the announcement Alexis graciously let me help them with. I just love designing things! Oh, by the way, the white dot on there is where the punch for the ribbon is going...so don't be nervous.

$2.00 Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point
Heather and I decided to go play at Thanksgiving Point on Tuesday. It was so much fun! I can't believe how much Ellie really enjoyed it. We walked the gardens for nearly four hours and Ellie not even once, acted up. She just loves being active AND outside! We kept telling her that we were going to find some water to play in. (Because Thanksgiving Point has a children's garden that features "Noah's Ark." It has a place for the kids to play in the fountains). So after 3 and a half hours of getting her excited about that we found ourselves at Noah's Ark and people saying that they shut down the water things because it was unclean. My heart broke for Ellie who was in the process of removing her shoes and striping down to her swimming suit. I had to tell her that the water wasn't clean and that we'd have to go swimming in the pool at home. To my surprise she got up and said "k." And that was that! What a sweetheart! Luckily, we did find some fountains that still had a little water shooting out of them and Ellie and Shaylie were content in wading through them. We plan on going again next week for the pony rides! Ellie's really excited about that!

Half Marathon!
I wish I could say it was me who accomplished such an amazing thing, but it wasn't. I just wanted to say Way to Go Emily and Heather! Emily ran this half marathon (her first one) in 2hours and 32min. Heather ran it in 2hours and 9mins. It was very inspiring. I think I am going to start training for this one next year. That should give me enough time to get in the right shape. I can't wait to get back with my trainer, Jana! She really knows how to whip you into shape!

Hair Phobia
Remember when I said that Ellie has a hair phobia? These next pictures may be evidence as to why she has that...or maybe just cruel parents.
Last year, for Halloween I was a pirate of some sort and wore this wig. I don't know what suddenly came over me, but I decided it would be really funny to make Ellie try it on. She ran away the first few times I tried to put it on her, but after some coaxing and bribing her with the hat, she reluctantly allowed us to put it on. She went stiff and as you can tell in the the second picture she was trying to keep the hair from touching her arms. Shawn and I were laughing our heads off! But nothing looked more funny than what happened next...

Who's that new girl in the house?

Is that...Shawn? I'm laughing even as I type this. Have you ever seen a more masculine guy? Oh, that really made my day. I still can't stop laughing. What a fun husband...I love that man!

So, is it a Boy or Girl?
The result are in! 58% of you said we were going to have a girl and 41% of you said it was going to be a boy. But no one hit it on the "o's" better than my dad who could not vote until he analyzed my handwriting. All he needed was a few words with o's in them and he figured it out! Apparently, your handwriting will always tell you what you are having when you're pregnant. So far, he's never been wrong (course, I'm the only one he's practiced on). And after an enjoyable trip to the ultrasound building we have confirmed that the Sheffer family will be adding a...girl! She was so cute! Wiggly, which I already knew, but cute! We're very excited to meet her coming up in a few months. I'd post the ultrasound pictures, but we didn't get any. Due to new monitors at the hospital, and having not received the DVD burners yet, we were out of luck.

Random Ellie-ness
These are evidences of Ellie's crazy, random self.
Here she is posing with Shawn's hat. She kept stealing it just because he was trying to pack it for his hunt.

Here she is posing with Shawn's hat. She kept stealing it just because he was trying to pack it for his hunt.
For some reason, unknown to us, Ellie loves to make us watch her run up and down the hallway.
I just love the profile of Ellie's face...
She's full of random, silly faces.
She has an obsession with watching movies. AND letting me know that she can do it herself! Her favorites are Shrek 2 and The Incredibles. Should I be concerned?
Sunset Ritual
If you know my dad, you know that he can often be found on the porch in evenings watching the sunset. Now, Ellie has joined him in that enjoyment. She'll always say as we're leaving grandparents house, "i wash the shunshet" (translation: I'm going to watch the sunset). It's so adorable.
Saying Goodbye
We said goodbye to Shawn's second love...well, he did anyway. Ellie and I were in the house when it all happened. He sold his 3 wheeler. It will hold memories of family fun time. Like the time it took me 10 minutes just to get it started only to run into my dad's trailer tail light. (Only minor damage). Or the many times when Ellie would ask daddy for rides on the "choo choo." Or Shawn's impressive tricks, like popping a wheelie. Yes, it will be missed, but on to better things!
Self Family Portraits
There we were, sitting on grandma's porch, enjoying an evening together when I decided to try my skill at self photography. Between concentrating on getting Ellie to smile and remember to smile ourselves, I think I'm ready for the professional world. (Joie, wouldn't you agree?) We're going to be very anxious to show off the new portraits on our wall...(next time we're flying out there for your skills, Joie).
Before and After
This is before...
And this is after...need I say more?
The Ellie Post
Everything you Wanted to Know About Ellie
Trampoline Time
An avid trampoline fan, Ellie shows off her many tricks...like clapping her hands. Ok so that is something that can be done without the tramp, but if you ask her to show you a trick on the tramp, that's the first thing she'll do. She will also do a summersault, bum sit, stradles, and of course, jump real high, which is an impressive 1/2 foot off the tramp!

Phobias
Ellie has a few phobias. One of them is something we discovered when I asked her to throw away the lint from the dryer vent. She would have nothing to do with it! She backs up and scrunches down to avoid touching it. She can hardly stand to even look at it. Here, Shawn is getting his haircut (compliments of Heather, my sister). As you'll see, Ellie is very concerned about the "fuffy" lying on the ground (something you and I would call a ball of hair). She wants me to hold her, but the fuffy is blocking her path to me, she retaliates...backing away slowly.
Preparing for the Baby
We moved the bassinet into our office for a little while so that Megan (my cousin) and her kids could stay with us. After their stay, we left the bassinet in there. One day I couldn't hear any noise in the house so I went looking for Ellie. I found her, testing out the bed for the baby on the way. She is so thoughtful! Looks like the baby will have no problems fitting in there...
Shoes are it!
Anyone who knows Ellie, knows that she has a serious shoe fetish...not so much keeping shoes on her feet, but trying on every pair of shoes she sees. (By the way, anyone who knows her dad also knows that the fetish came from him. Surprising, I know, but he has more shoes than I do!) Here, she's sporting Emily's (my sister) stylish pumps.

Time With Daddy
Time with daddy is something that can be hard to find. He works nights, which means he must sleep during the day. We take our weekends very seriously around here. It's family time! Here he is showing Ellie the ropes of videoing. She looks deeply interested.
Sleeping Beauty Aftermath
She may be a sleeping beauty, but man, the aftermath sure takes a toll. She has what we affectionately call cotton hair. No matter what, her hair turns into a ball of fluff each and every night! I guess every princess has some kind of curse to overcome...
